They do! After five years of dating and a few bumps along the way, actress Gabrielle Union married her longtime boyfriend, Miami Heat basketball star Dwayne Wade.
The couple were married at sunset on Saturday, Aug. 30, at Chateau Artisan in Miami, Fla., PEOPLE reports.
The lavish location is said to resemble a castle complete with it’s own moat, making it nearly impossible for paparazzi to sneak photos of their private affair. Nice planning!
Union, 41, and Wade, 32, tied the knot in front of a small gathering of family and friends. Their theme centered around the1930s era, for which they requested that guests dress in formal white to complement the decor.
The actress wore a strapless Dennis Basso gown and wore her hair up with loose curls falling around her face. As for the athlete, he chose a custom white Dsquared2 tuxedo, with a Tie Bar bowtie that was personally designed by himself from the Wedding Collection.
In December 2013, the Miami Heat star proposed to his actress girlfriend with an 8.5 carat diamond sparkler. His two sons from a previous marriage and a nephew that he is raising helped him with the proposal.
Throughout their years of dating, the couple have overcome some pretty personal obstacles that they were fortunately able to work out privately. While on a break from each other in 2013, it was revealed that Wade had fathered a son with a longtime friend, but that Gabrielle knew about the child prior to their engagement.
This is the second marriage for both Union and Wade. From 2001-2006, the Being Mary Jane star was married to football player Chris Howard. Wade married his high school sweetheart, Siohvaughn Funches in 2002. The couple went on to have two sons together; Zaire and Zion, and separated in 2007. Their divorce was finalized in 2010.
We’re so glad that Gabrielle and Dwayne finally got their happy ending.
